Job Description

Position Summary

In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all customers, service users, and carers receive exceptional service within specified timescales. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with new candidates through induction process, assisting with the completing of the Care Certificate within the required 12-week period.
  • Liaise with the resourcing team to engage with new workers prior to their start date to ensure their understanding of their role and the organisations expectations.
  • Liaise with the care coordinators for the scheduling of initial visits of new carers to ensure you are available for their familiarisation into the organisation and for future visits to monitor performance.
  • Ensuring workers successfully complete the care competency framework in a timely manner to allow successful ‘sign off’
  • Working in collaboration with new carers in developing and coaching their skills and confidence to promote autonomous working.
  • Standardise and improve on practice across the organisation, supporting the existing and wider team ensuring any training needs are addressed.
  • Identify training needs. Participate in the planning and implementation of in-house training to be held at monthly team meetings.
  • Take appropriate action to remedy any unsatisfactory performance, recording any significant action.
  • Assist with the completion of the 1,3- and 6-month probation reviews.
  • Ensure the promotion of the company’s vision and culture and that team members understand and endorse the aims and objectives, challenging the behaviours using the Value Based Recruitment framework.
  • Responsible for the consistent channel of communication between workers, service users and their families and feed back to the wider team.
  • Completing New Service User Risk assessments and Care Plans.
  • Completing regular reviews with Service Users and their relatives, Social Workers or other Health Professionals involved in their Care.
  • Completing care plan reviews as and when needs change and including the 6 monthly reviews.
  • Completing Staff observations, spot checks and supervisions.
  • Maintaining Professional relationships between other Health and Social Care professionals.
  • Providing service users with support with daily activities such as personal care, dressing needs, shopping assistance, social support, medication needs and domestic duties.
  • To document all tasks completed, service user well-being in the daily communications.
  • To report to the Registered Manager any concerns.
  • Ensuring all legal, regulatory and the organisations standards are met or exceeded.
  • Participating and contributing toward the monthly team meetings.
  • Cover Out of Hours Service on a Rota Basis.
  • Assist with care rotas when required.

Any other duties required by the needs of the business.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relevant NVQ or Qualification, Experience working within the social care sector.
