She Did It!
Climbing over 51 km and reaching an altitude of 4200 ft in 4 days was the challenge that Natalie accepted, and defeated!
As part of our charity efforts for 2019, we signed Natalie up to face one of her greatest challenges yet… to trek the Inca Trail in Peru.
Classified as Tough, the 9 day adventure included travelling for a total of 48 hours to and from Cusco, facing high altitude in the mountains, constant breathing difficulties, the sickness that came with it and 4 days of 5Am starts with 11 hours of constant climbing… this was not something to be taken lightly.
Natalie said “I am so privileged to have the opportunity to do this challenge and meet all the amazing people I did. We became a family, and the guides not only helped us reach this amazing goal, but opened our eyes to the beauty around us, appreciating everything from the insects which invaded our tents, to the wind that kept us cool. We had a team of Wikies (Porters) which we celebrated helping us throughout the trail, and then they celebrated our return to camp each and every time we arrived… it was a special moment we all shared together. I am thankful to Platinum Care Solutions for supporting me in this challenge, and the Director Jo Barry for being there for me throughout my journey. I am so happy to be supporting Group B Strep Support and raising funds and awareness for this amazing charity.”
