Our team has years of experience in dementia care – we have four dementia champions across the business – and has long understood how life-altering the disease can be, for both the individual and their loved ones. Home care presents an opportunity to lessen the impact of dementia by allowing individuals to stay in a safe, happy and familiar environment.
Dementia is a generalised term for a loss of memory, problem-solving, language and other mental abilities that contribute to daily life. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause, but there are many conditions that can contribute to dementia.
The service we provide
Dementia affects each individual differently, which is why no two of our care packages are the same. Individual care needs are assessed by our experienced team during an initial free assessment. We check that we can properly meet your needs whilst you decide whether you think we would be a good fit for you, too. Dementia should not mean losing your autonomy, so we always do our best to support your needs whilst ensuring that your independence is retained.
Who will care for my loved one?
We have four dementia champions across the business – volunteers working to encourage the community to understand more about what dementia means. In previous years, we have hosted a ‘dementia café’ – a friendly environment in which individuals with dementia and their carers can socialise comfortably and safely. COVID-19 meant that we had to put this on hold, but we hope to bring it back when possible.
